STRUCTURE
You will attend a total of 18 Sunday Sessions throughout the 2018 – 2019 Academic year and each session will include the following...

1 ½ Hour Ballet Class
-
1 ½ Hour another Genre (eg. Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Lyrical Jazz, Commercial Jazz)
Each session will be led by a variety of tutors from the Classical/Contemporary Profession. The aim of the company is to improve and develop your technique whist also discovering and learning the art of choreography.
As the company develops there will be some holiday intensives, allowing students to engage with other artists, to develop new work and work under an intensive environment with the creative process, which will inevitably allow the dancers participate in further opportunities to be involved in performance related projects.
COST
There will be 18 sessions over three terms. The cost for the year is £390 which includes the weekly sessions and performance rehearsals etc. However there is a scholarship scheme which means talented individuals can be supported where necessary. There is one full place scholarship available. Any additional performance opportunities will be optional and will incur additional costs.
OBJECTIVES
In the current climate of vocational dance training, it is the fundamentals of technique that are highly desired by any Vocational Institution and therefore Pointe 4WD aims to provide additional training to the students normal training in a professional environment in order to prepare and support the dancers for the demands of vocational training, academic training ie. GCSE / A Level Dance / Undergraduate Degree and also the methods and structure of working within a dance company.
PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES
Whilst the technique classes will be challenging and methodical in their approach the Choreographic Workshop will allow the dancers to be part of a company. New works will be created each term by guest artists and the company will perform at a Variety of Youth Dance Platforms throughout the year, mainly those led by Youth Dance England and National Dance Agencies (eg. Ludus / Dance Initiative Greater Manchester etc.)
CODE OF CONDUCT
As a member of Pointe 4WD you will be expected to act professionally and responsibly at all times. If you are selected you will follow a code of conduct that works in association with the structure of the company and gives you the guidelines in order to achieve your full potential as part of the company.
SCHOLOARSHIPS
We are pleased to be able to offer one full scholarship for Pointe 4WD for the 2018-2019 Year. This will be awarded to a dancer who wishes to pursue a career in dance and will be assessed at the audition based on talent and commitment shown through the creative workshop.
THE AUDITION
The audition will take place on Sunday 8th July 2018 and will consist of a 1 Hour Ballet Class followed by a 1 hour Contemporary Dance Class. You do not need to prepare anything for the audition. Please wear leotard/tights and ballet shoes for the ballet class and comfortable clothing with bare feet for the Contemporary and Workshop.

The cost of the audition is £25.00.
You will receive a letter within one week informing you of the outcome of the audition. Further details will then be sent to you if you are successful regarding schedule, payment etc.
